This is truly a hidden gem in the 41nd street neighborhood. No, it's not the Forge, but that's why it's called The Well. It may be next door, but it's an independent spot (yes it's co-owned by Shareef but it isn't trying to pretend to be a Forge offshoot). I like the vibe and the fact that it's tucked away. The interior is brand new, except they have kept the awesome stained glass dome ceiling in the main bar area and the carved wood bar. Floors are wood with some strategically placed banquettes. The lighting is dim- not so dim you can't see where you are going, but the kind that reminds you that you are there for relaxing, some good drinks, conversation. It's not a "scene" but it's trendy, if that makes sense. It definitely doesn't feel like a meat market like some SOBE bars. It feels like a neighborhood place for locals, but it isn't a dive bar and it's modern and upscale. You wouldn't be out of place here in jeans, and you definitely don't need to break out the Herve Leger, but you wouldn't be out of place if you did. The decor is sort of Aspen/mountain lodge but not in a cheesy way. The wood touches add a nice, light organic feel to a place that could seem more like a cave (there are no outside windows). The bartenders are pros, drinks are made well and quickly. The handful of flat screens at the bar make sure you don't miss any of the Heat games and the banquettes are comfy and lounge-y. My favorite part, aside the chill/hip atmosphere was the bathrooms. Low and behold, you know that they know what they are doing. There are honest to goodness, six individual unisex bathrooms all available through one hallway. No lines to powder your nose, no waiting in a communal room. Privacy and accessibility, what a concept! Buzzy Sklar runs the place and he's frequently there, nice to know he's that involved in the business and a cool guy, too.

I hold off reviews for several days to let myself think through the review carefully. I am not going to sugar coat this. I got sick. I went only to one place that night and had two drinks, and that was the Well. I woke up the next morning with a raspy throat. I'm pretty sure the glasses and/or ice weren't 100% clean. Oh well. The venue was nice and the price of drinks was rather steep. I'm not going to complain about that too much because I have more things to complain about. Bottom Line: Never again.

Hit up the Blacksmith "pop up" on Friday Oct 26th for a friends Birthday. We strolled in around 11 pm (after dinner) and the place was just getting going. The band "Brown Buffalo" was great! The Ska version of "Blackhole Sun" sold us and the night was great. We didn't opt for the bottle service but the server let our group grab a cozy spot on the couches and was very attentive. The birthday girl had a blast !! There is a "snobby vibe" but i say fk it, and grabbed another drink.

It's a great place to go after dinner. The environment is very nice, and yeah, they do have "best restrooms ever". Bartenders are pro & hot. I and my friends had a good time there. ps: don't order "altitude sickness" if u don't like spicy flavor. It's super hot. lol

Wow! How hasn't this place been reviewed? This bar and lounge is right next to the Forge Restaurant. After dinner last night, we stepped into The Well to check out this new spot. I felt like I was in a lodge in Aspen or Canada -- beautiful, rich woods. There are lots of cozy couches and two different bars to sit at. This is a departure from the usual South Beach spots. It's sophisticated, yet laid back. I am not sure if there is any food, but it's a cool place to have beer or drink and Just hang out with friends.....

I came here last night with a girlfriend of mine and despite coming in at around 1:30, we still had a blast. We walked in with no problem, the drink I got was strong, and the crowd was very attractive and live. The music was on point and we danced the whole time there. It was difficult to leave because each time we decided to go they would play a song we both liked. Overall, it was a great night and we're celebrating her birthday there next week. Definitely a good place. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I don't know how the place is before 1am and I didn't pay for my drink so I don't know how pricey it is.

Sometimes you wanna go where...there are not a lot of people. Tucked away on a strip of businesses on 41st, sits The Well Lounge. Unimpressive from the outside, but wicked cool on the inside. My friend and I got there around 7:30 PM on a Friday. There were small groups of people dispersed throughout the bar. I'm not sure if it was because it was early, but I can't really attest for what the usual crowd is like. I rather enjoyed the intimate feel of the place, anyway.We drank a lot. We also mixed a lot...but that's a whole other story. We plan on going back on a weekend and later on in the evening to see what it's like, but overall it's a nice, cool place for a drink or two...or three!
